The app was first released in the year 2014 and was been there for 3 years. Now, the Norway-based developer company, Opera has removed its Opera Max data saving app from Google Play Store. The company had officially announced the retirement of Opera Max app in a blog post. The company said in a blog post “Opera Max, the app that allowed users to manage and reduce data usage across their Android mobile phone applications, was initially released in 2014. Opera has now decided to discontinue Opera Max. The product had a substantially different value proposition than our browser products, and represented a different focus for Opera. We, therefore, focus on our browsers and other upcoming services” For those, who are still using the Opera Max app won’t get any updates. Opera had also mentioned that the app will work fine for “a period of time” until the developer pulls the plug on the services. Well, this move from Opera comes as a big shock for many users because the company had introduced a new Opera Max 3.0 in May this year. Opera said the new version was a “major update with an all new design, optimized for easier use of the powerful data savings and data management tools inside Opera Max.” For more details, visit the official blog post of Opera.
