Belonging to the options of SSDs in format NF1 of the well-known South Korean giant Samsung, the novelty brings 16 chips with 512 GB of capacity. Each drive has 16 layers of 256-gigabit V-NAND memory. In them, the storage cells support three bits, indicating that the specification used here is TLC (Triple-Level Cell). The speeds also impress. They are up to 3.1 GB/s (gigabytes per second) in sequential data read and 2 GB/s in writing, three to five times larger numbers than the most conventional SSDs (Solid State Drives). Other features include compatibility with PCI Express 4.0 and NVMe 1.3 standards (which optimizes data access time), as well as support for up to 500,000 random operations per second (IOPS) in data read and 50,000 in the recording. Moreover, the dimensions of the device are 11×3.05 cm.

What’s the price for all this?

The well-known South Korean giant Samsung has not yet revealed the price of this SSD. This SSD is specifically designed to equip high-performance data centers and can be installed in 2U racks that support up to 576TB. The values will depend on negotiations based on sales volumes. Well, maybe it’s better not to have this information: an SSD with such high numbers will not have the price as an exception. So, what do you think about this?
