After the failure of its Windows 10 Mobile, the tech giant Microsoft is making an effort to deploy a special version of its main operating system, Windows 10, in ARM processors. Microsoft has already spoken several times about this new project and has already achieved excellent autonomy while maintaining performance similar to that found on x86-based computers. Using Snapdragon 835 as the foundation for the first devices, Microsoft will rely on brands such as HP, Asus, and Lenovo in its design.

New Windows 10 on ARM benchmark to run on an Asus PC

Last week we got to know some details of an HP model with Windows 10 and Snapdragon 835 which, according to a Geekbench test, totaled 1202 single-core points and 4068 multi-core points. Recently a new Geekbench test came on, this time it appeared with an Asus computer, which shows that the launch of these devices may be quite close, and is expected to be released by the end of the year. This new computer, codenamed TP370QL, has a 13″ screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC which will be clocked at 2.21 GHz, 4GB of RAM and a 32bit version of Windows 10 Pro. In the Geekbench test, this computer made 818 points in single-core and 3174 in multi-core.

In comparison to traditional PC performance, a PC with an Intel i3-8100, in the same test, achieved 3692 single-core and 11860 multi-core points. It is then expected that these new devices with Windows 10 on the ARM will arrive by the end of the year and introduce a new solution for those who do not need so much processing power but who prefer a long battery life. The question now is with the version that these computers will bring and whether it will be a fully functional system or if there will be any limitations. In the minds of consumers, the ghost of Windows RT and its limitations still hangs in the air, and it is now Microsoft’s responsibility to counter this image. So, what do you think about this?
